Default Peanuts DVD Contest

Share Your Snoopy Story - Peanuts 1970's Collection Vol. 1 DVD Contest

Not only is Peanuts one of the most influential comic strips of all time, it is also very likely the longest story ever told by a single human being, running from October 2, 1950 until February 13, 2000 (the day after illustrator Charles M. Schulz's death). The legendary comic strip that featured the characters Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Peppermint Patty, Snoopy and Woodstock inspired numerous TV specials, including A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving; There's No Time for Love, Charlie Brown; and It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown. Celebrate 60 years of Peanuts with these TV specials that are available on The Peanuts 1970's Collection Vol. 1, which includes two TV specials being released for the first time on DVD.

To Enter the Contest:

Share your Snoopy story by telling us a weird and/or funny animal story. It can be about your pet, or if you've never owned a pet, it could be about the bird that landed on your head, the raccoon that chased you down the street ... you get the idea. As always, there is no length requirement for your post.

Good luck.

I had a pet rat named Sergio (he died on Super Bowl Sunday a couple years ago). Anyhow, one night I was trying to study in my room and he was making a lot of noise and bothering me quite a bit. So I took his cage and put it in my closet and shut the door so I could concentrate. While in the closet, he somehow got out of his cage and ate 2/3 of my baseball glove.

Great topic Klance. I was born in 68 and my sister in 69 so the 70s were perfect in terms of experiencing Peanuts! I do remember (I had to confirm this by calling my sis) around the time I was 8, the local kids and I put on a Peanuts show for our parents.

It was nothing fancy, maybe 20 minutes long. Anyways, I was Charlie, my sis played Sally and the other kids played some of the other roles. Believe it or not, we had a dog playing Snoopy but it was not a beagle nor did it cooperate with our show, kind of useless.

We had masks left over from Halloween that depicted the Peanut charactors so at least our parents knew who we were attempting to mimic. We did the goofy skit where Lucy holds the football for me (Charlie Brown) and pulls it away at the last second. lol

Thats all I remember. It was fun, I miss those days. I still watch some Peanut clips on You Tube, I LOVE IT! Ken

i used to have this cat who would pick up bugs outside and bring them inside to show us. One day me and my wife Emily (girlfriend at the time) were sitting down playing GO and the cat brought her a spider and as soon as emily saw it I swear she screamed and must ran 30 feet to the kitchen in 5 seconds and the cat followed her and she kept trying to run away and ended up locking herself in the closet until I killed the spider and put the cat outside. After that every time Emily saw the cat coming towards her she would hold the cat back until she could check if there was a spider in its mouth. It went on like that for 2 years

Well...

Years back my family had both a cat and a dog {amoung many, many other pets}.

These two would fight, not like the proverbial cat and dog, but more like sibling rivalry. The biggest and longest running feud was the "who gets to sit closer to the fireplace" one.

What would happen, is the Dog {Her name was Dinky} would get up, go over to the fireplace, lay down in front and doze off.
Then, the Cat {Dusty} would come in, and settle against Dinky, between her and the fire.
The Dog would then get up, step over the cat, and lie down, going back to sleep. Then the cat would then get up...

You get the idea.

One afternoon, after 2 or three minutes of this, the dog actually sat on the the bloody fireplace, screaming in pain, but refusing utterly to budge her arse of the spot.

The cat? Sat there looking smug.

I wish I could say this didn't happen again, but it kept on until I bought a metal fire guard.
