Plot: Saruman's forces have been defeated. Saruman's fortress is under attack. At the same time, Frodo and Sam are pushing farther into the land of Mordor to destroy the ring of power. Accompanying them on their journey is the deceitful creature Gollum, who has formed an uneasy alliance with the hobbits as he leads them to the very heart of Mount Doom.

Aragorn, who has learned that he is the lost King of Gondor, ventures to Minis Tirith in an attempt to rescue the city from Lord Sauron's hold. He is aided by an army of undead soldiers and the remaining members of the fellowship, which includes Legolas (Orlando Bloom).
