Plot: Roland Emmerich, the director of 1996's Independence Day brings audiences a new futuristic thriller, The Day After Tomorrow. The story surrounds a climatological disaster that wrecks havoc on the world until it is barely recognizable. Dennis Quaid plays the role of Professor Adrian Hall, a brilliant paleoclimatologist who sets out over this frozen and hostile landscape in search of his son Sam (Jake Gyllenhaal). He believes Sam may be still alive and in the vicinity of what was once New York City. Many other survivors flee south, in the opposite direction as Professor Hall.
